#1, of 14 images My wife and I arose at dawn on September 18, 2001 and watched Mt. McKinley also known as "Denali" (which is Athabascan for "The Great One"), see the first light of day, from our room at the Mt. McKinley Wilderness Lodge, 30 miles away. We proceeded to catch an early morning sightseeing bus to the little town of Talkeetna, which when we arrived was bathed in early morning fog, and had a cloud ceiling of only 800 feet. It was Betty’s birthday and I asked her what she would like to do. © daniel j nolan Comment on Photo Buy this photo!
